The formula's story
Ink Violet is the house's oldest composition and still its most argued about. Violet leaf gives the metallic snap of stems cut at dawn; cassis bud adds a dark, currant-leaf bitterness. Orris butter — aged three years in the cellar — brings powdery depth, and a suede accord softens it into something you want pressed against your neck. The leather base is the ink: a dry, stamp-and-seal finish that lasts past midnight.
